We raised $18M to answer more of the world's calls
We've closed an $18M Series A led by Ravenshead Capital, with Northfield Ventures and Kestrel Partners joining. It brings the total raised to $24M.
Where it goes
- Latency. A caller notices a 700ms gap before a reply. We are pushing our median first-response time under 400ms in every region, which means more inference capacity closer to more phone networks.
- Regulated verticals. Dentistry, veterinary and legal are already our three largest categories. Each has consent, records and disclosure requirements that deserve dedicated engineering rather than a checkbox.
- Support. We are doubling the customer team so that a business setting up on a Friday afternoon has a person available, not a help centre article.
Where it doesn't
Not outbound sales calling. We get asked roughly weekly to build a system that dials strangers. We won't. tryorbell exists to answer people who chose to call a business, and pointing the same technology at people who didn't is a different product with a different conscience attached.
The test we apply to any new feature: would we be comfortable if the caller knew exactly how it worked? If not, we don't build it.
Thanks to the 2,400 businesses who got us here, several of whom answered a due-diligence call from an investor while their own phones were being answered by us.
