Company
We started by counting the calls nobody answered.
In 2023 our founders spent four weeks sitting in the back office of a dental practice, logging every ring. Thirty-eight percent went unanswered. Every one of them was a person who needed something and got a dial tone.
What we're building
Voice is still how people ask for help when it matters — when they're in pain, locked out, running late, or spending real money. It is also the channel small businesses are worst equipped to serve, because answering well requires someone free at exactly the moment the phone rings.
tryorbell exists to make that moment reliable. Not to replace the person at the desk, but to make sure nobody calling a business ever again hears a phone ring out.
A missed call is not a lost message. It is a person deciding you are closed.
How we work
- The caller is the customer. If a decision is good for the business paying us but bad for the person on the line, we don't ship it.
- Say what it is. tryorbell discloses that it's automated wherever disclosure is required, and we default to on everywhere else.
- Never invent an answer. A wrong price on a phone call is worse than no answer. The system is built to admit ignorance.
- Small teams, whole problems. Two or three people own a product area end to end, including the support tickets it generates.
